Factory Stock RULES & SPECIFICATIONS

1. Body: Anv American made stock passenger car or truck or Chrysler uni-bodies. No front wheel drives. No spoilers, wings, skirts, air scoops, or anything that alters stock appearance. A front visor is allowed on the windshield area. Sun roofs and T -tops must be reinforced and enclosed.  Must have a minimum of three windshield bars in front of driver, If carrying a passenger, bars must continue across entire windshield opening. All glass, plastic, upholstery, lights, mirrors and trim must be removed. All doors must be chained, bolted or welded. Front inner fender wells may be removed. Cars must be strictly stock. No cutting, channeling, shortening, or modifying is allowed Front and rear outer fenders may be cut for wheel and tire clearance Must have stock type front, and rear bumpers. Seat, steering, clutch, and brake pedals must be in stock location. Quick steering allowed. Quick release steering wheel is allowed. No enclosed interior.

2. Roll Cage: At least a four-point cage, minimum size 1-1/2" O.D. by 095 wall thickness. Minimum three driver side door bars and two on passenger side is required. If carrying passenger, you must have three bars on passenger side. Four point quick release seat belts and harness required for driver and passenger. Racing seat optional. Must have a window net for driver and passenger.

3. Engines: Must be stock for the make and model. All engine components including water pumps, distributor, etc. must be strictly stock May run mini starter an after market pulleys, Metric cars may run 350. Engine must be in stock location. Solid motor and transmission mounts are allowed.

4.Camshaft: Valve train, and Cylinder Heads: Hydraulic cam and lifters only, Must Pull 14" vacuum at 1200 RPM. 1,94 maximum diameter valves on all small block Chevrolet. Stock size valve springs only. Stamped steel 1 5 rockers only, no roller tips. Open chambered cylinder heads only, must be unaltered, OEM steel heads May use stock type screw in studs.305 Chevy engines may use 305 heads.

5. Carburetion and Fuel System: Must be on naturally aspirated unaltered stock type carburetor, No more than 1" spacer or adapter. Can remove choke. Gasoline only.
Exhaust: Stock cast iron exhaust type manifolds only, Chevrolets no center dump, corvette or marine type manifolds.
Intake Manifold: Stock intake only. No hi-perf., hi-rise, cutting or porting

7. Transmissions: Stock automatic or standard transmission. Transmissions, flywheels, clutches, and torque converters strictly stock. Transmission cooler is allowed. All drive-shafts must haveloop 6"_ from front u-joint, and be painted white.                                                            

9. Fuel: Gasoline only, no additives. Stock type fuel pumps for make and model. Fuel tank may be in original location or secured in trunk. Fuel cell recommended.

10.Suspension: Front and rear suspension must be stock for that make and model of car, No air shocks or after market racing parts No alterations to any part of the suspension will be allowed. Any spring no spacer must sit in unaltered stock mounts. Any stock mount shock.

11. Rear end: Stock rear-end for make and model.

12. Steering: Must remain in stock location.

13. Radiators: Any radiator that fits in original location without any body modifications is allowed.

14. Brakes: Must have at least 3 working brakes. No brake shut off or bias adjustment is allowed.

15. Tires and Wheels: 8" max. wide wheels allowed, I5" dia. steel wheels only, no bead locks or screws allowed. No bleed-off valves, Must run 1"  lug nuts. Asphalt pull-offs only, Hooiser 2045, F53, F75 no grooving of tires front and rear.

16. Courtesy Rule: Any car from another track with Minor rule infractions will be allowed to race one night

17. Protest Rule: Any driver in the same race on the lead lap may protest another car immediately before featureStart. 250 00 cash per component $ 50.00 to the track, if legal protested car gets $ 200.00 if illegal protester gets $ 200.00 back.

DIRT STOCK CAR RULES

1. FRAME: Any American OEM full body rear wheel drive passenger car, or Truck 1964 or newer, full frame or unibody. Rear of frame behind rear tires, from a point no further forward than one inch behind factory seam, may be replaced in OEM location with two inch by three inch steel tubing with .095 inch wall thickness, same length as material removed. Factory seam must remain visible. Unbodies must tie rear frame to front frame. Frames may be "X" braced.

2. ROLL CAGE: At least a four point cage, minimum size 1 -1/2" OD by .095 wall
thickness. Minimum three driver side door bars and two on passenger side.

3. BODY: Any stock steel OEM that fits frame. Front body mounts must be visible. Sunroofs and T-tops must be enclosed. After market plastic nose pieces allowed, recommended to match body. Ground effects or skirting must be no lower than 6" from ground. Hood and trunk must be securely fastened and back of hood must be sealed off from driver compartment with metal. . Front inner wheel wells may be removed; rear wheel wells may be removed. Trunk floor directly over rear end housing maybe removed.  All glass must be removed. All doors must be securely fastened. Fenders and quarter panels may be trimmed for tire clearance. May run a spolier no more than 8" of material.


4. BRAKES: Must be steel approved OEM, operative four wheel, drum of disc. Front components must match vehicle. Must maintain OEM dimensions for hubs/rotors and calipers cannot be lighted. Bolt pattern may be changed. Larger studs allowed. Rear rotors may be after market, min 0.810 inch thickness. Vented rotors only, no scalloped rotors. No floating brakes. No brake shut-off or pressure sensitive devices, 3 wheel brakes OK. One proportioning devices allowed front to rear only. Brake lines must he visible. After market pedal assembly allowed.

5. BUMBERS: Front and rear bumpers required. Stock or fabricated ok. No sharp edges. Front bumper may not extend beyond inside tire width except cars with nosepieces. Fabricated bumpers maybe no more than 1 3/4" Odx. 125 wall round tube or 2x3x125 wall rectangle. Fabricated bumpers must be capped at ends. Nerf bars allowed. One bar per side on doors, and quarter panels. Nerf bars can be 2" max from body.

6. ENGINES: blocks-OEM produced cast iron only. GM 362, Ford 363, Chrysler 370, No D - Stroking motor MUST RUN STOCK STROKE.

7. CAM AND VALVET: Any flat tappet cam ok. No mushroom, or roller of and type. No gear or belt driven cams. Screw in studs and guide plates ok. Stock Rocker Arm Only.

8. CARBURETOR & FUEL PUMP: Single two barrels only. 500 CFM Holley 4412 only. Butterflies (1-11/16), Bore size (1 3/8). Carb spacer and adapter ok, maximum 1 1/4 " height. Aftermarket air filters ok. Aftermarket fuel pumps ok. AH pumps must mount in stock location. Cross member may be notched for fuel pump clearance only.

9. CYLINDER HEADS: Cast Iron Only, No Aftermarket Heads, No porting or polishing. No GM Bowtie. No Ford SVO. or Chrysler W2 Heads allowed.

10. EXHAUST: Headers OK.


11. IGNITION: Stock OEM produced battery operated electronic or single point. Distributors in stock location, and must ran off of one 12 volt battery.

12. INTAKE MANIFOLD: Cast Iron or Aluminum. Chevy part#7547-l,
Ford part#302-7515,351w 8023, 351c 7516, Chevy Vortex part# 8151,
Chrysler part#7545. Elbrock 7101 and 7116. Power Plus 52001 and 52007

13. LOCATION: Engine must be in stock location. Front engine cars only. Aftermarket
or fabricated motor mounts of plates, 1# spark plugs must be even with upper ball
joint.

14. OIL SYSTEM: Extra capacity pan or accusump ok. Oil pump in stock location. No
dry sumps.

15. VALVE COVERS: Breathers, aftermarket ok.

16. FUEL: Gas or Menthol.

17. FUEL CELL: Racing fuel cell required.

18. RADIATORS: One radiator in stock location only.

19. REAR END: Ring an pinion ratio need not be stock. Must be locked, spool of mini spool recommended. After market axles ok 9" Ford under and body ok. No limited slips such as Gold-Trac, Detroit Locker, and Etc. Floaters are OK.

20. STEERING/DRIVER LOCATION-OEM: Steering gear box in stock location for frame used. Drag link, tie rods, etc. must be stock location, Quick steer boxes ok. Aftermarket pumps ok. Aftermarket steering wheel with disconnect ok. Driver must sit in left quadrant of race car, no further back than rear edge of front door.

21. SUSPENSION: Leaf, coil, or Torsion bar as OEM produced for year/make/model body. Racing spring ok. Coils must be minimum 4.5" outside diameter. No coil covers. All spring must mount in stock location. One spring and shock per wheel. Spring spacer or lowering blocks for ride height adjustment ok. Steel body racing or stocks ok... No air shocks. Weight jacks, and rear leaf spring shackles ok. No <<<censored>>>pit operated shock or spring adjustment devices. All other suspension components must OEM produced for make and model and in stock location. No fabricated or aftermarket traction devices or suspension components. Front upper A- arms maybe after market. Lower trailing arm cannot be no lower than 4"frorn bottom rear end

22. TIRES & WHEELS: Asphalt pull-offs, KK 704 or G60. 8 inch or 10" steel wheels.
Beadlock on right side only.

23. TRANMISSIONS: All forward and reverse gears must be operational. Manual: Must be unaltered OEM three of four speed, with organic single disc-type clutch and steel pressure plate assembly inside an explosion-proof steel bell housing. Minimum 270 degrees around top of clutch and flywheel area. AUTOMATIC: Must be unaltered OEM, with unaltered OEM pump, original bell housing. Flex plate must be full, unaltered OEM, or OEM replacement.

25. FOUR CYCLINDERS: No cubic inch rule.

SOUTHERN OUTLAW

                                              RULES & SPECIFICATIONS

1. BODY: Interior and wheel base; any American made OEM produced COUPE OR SEDAN BODY AND REAR WHEEL DRIVE. Body must maintain complete stock appearance. Air filters can pass through hood a max of 6". No ram air, or fresh air systems, mud guard in front of filter OK. All exterior lamps and trim must be removed, may be covered with sheet metal. Doors must be fastened, bolted or welded Shut, All glass and interior trim must be removed. All openings in firewalls must be covered with sheet metal so as to isolate driver compartment from engine trunk/fuel cell and ground areas. Minimum wheel base 108 Inches. Wheel base must remain stack according to year model of body used. Main roll cage tubing must be minimum of 1 A *”. Driver’s side must have 3 door bars. New cars are recommended to be built out of 1 A *” roll cage. After market plastic nosepieces that look stock will be allowed. Body must be a minimum of 5 inches from the ground. T max on sun visor 6). Spoilers are legal. 6" tall maximum.

2. WEIGHT: Must weigh at least 3,000 pounds after race with driver in car. No tolerance by track scales, No weights and/or loose objects in driver compartment or outside body. Weights must be securely mounted to frame or roll cage and painted white with {your car number on it}. Must be attached with at least two 5” bolts. No titanium, magnesium or carbon fiber products, parts, or components. No gun-drilled, tubular, hollow bolts or studs, Steel fasteners only.

3. BRAKES: Three wheel brakes OK. One proportioning device allowed. After market pedal assembly allowed.

4. BUMPERS: Front and rear bumpers required. Stock or fabricated OK. No sharp edges. Front bumper may not extend beyond inside tire width except carj with nosepieces. Fabricated bumpers may be no more than 1 A3/4" ODx. 125 wall round tube or 2x3x.125 wall rectangle. Fabricated bumpers must be capped at ends. Nerf bars allowed. One bar per side on doors, and quarter panels Nerf bars can be 2" max from body No larger than 1 A1/4" round tubing on nerf bars. 1" x 2" square tubing.

17. TRANSMISSION: " Automatic or standard, Approved OK on any car Driver must be able to put car in forward, neutral, and reverse while running. Transmission cooler OK and may be attached to cage Scatter shields or blow proof bell housing mandatory, No Aluminum bell housing allowed! Mini Clutch or Direct Drive OK but must be mounted to the crankshaft. Minimum 2" diameter steel drive shaft, must be painted white, and must have drive shaft loop mounted 6" back from front U-joint.

18. WHEELS: 15” dia. Steel wheels only . racing wheels OK. One Inch (1") steel lug nuts required.

19. NUMBERS: Numbers must be on top and sides of car. Numbers must be 20" tall.

20. COURTESY RULE: Anv car from another track with Minor rule infractions will be allowed to race one night.

Pro Mod Rules


1. FRAME: OEM complete. 1964 or newer, perimeter American rear wheel drive passenger car frame only. Frame must be full and complete, cannot be widened or narrowed, and must be able to support roll cage on both sides, except: weight jack in original center line of spring tower allowed; frame may be cut a maximum 36” forward from center of rear end housing. Horns may be removed in front of steering box. Front crossmember may be notched and boxed for radiator and/or steering clearance. Maximum seven inch wide opening in side of spring tower for spring removal. Maximum two-inch wide by four inch tall frame stiffener may be welded directly to outside of left side frame rail. Minimum wheelbase 108 inches. Maximum 112 inches both sides. No part of frame can be lower than four inches from ground except front crossmember.


2. ROLL CAGE: Must consist of continuous hoops. Minimum 1.5 inch O.D. tubing with a minimum wall thickness of .095 inch for main cage. Frame mounted in at least six places (low carbon or mild steel recommended). Must consist of a configuration of front, rear and top hoops connected by tubing on sides or side hoops. Driver’s head must not protrude outside cage with helmet on. Roll cage must be securely supported and braced with minimum one cross bar in top halo. Foot protection bar required. Main cage no further forward than rear of engine. All bars forward of cage must be lower than hood.


3. BODIES: (a) Any homemade body parts may be constructed of steel, aluminum or fiberglass. All cars in competition must have a complete paint job. Body must be the same width, front to rear, and parallel to the frame. Original roof line of vehicle must closely be maintained. Must be full size roof. No wings or any other ground effects are allowed anywhere outside or inside car. Sail panels must match and be the same on both sides of car. Any reinforcing lips on rear of sail panel must be 180 degree bends. all cars must be numbered with large legible numbers on both sides, on top and rear panel. Numbers on sides and top of car must be in contrasting color from body, be at least four inches thick and at least 24 inches high. Sponsor’s names must not interfere with car numbers and must be neatly lettered. Engine compartment will remain open, no side panels; hood sides may have maximum six inch drop
and must be enclosed at rear of hood; maximum hood scoop height—six inches. Passenger side of body must be no further forward than rear of block.. No panel in front of right door to engine compartment. No inner panels. No car covers. . Driver and passenger side windows must have at least 12-inch opening, measured at center of window, whether the roof or roll cage, and the highest point at the bottom of window, whether the interior or body.

4. SPOILERS: A rear spoiler not exceeding 6 inches of total material and not exceeding the width of the rear deck. A maximum of 4 tapered supports may be installed on the front of the spoiler no higher than the spoiler.

5. DRIVER COMPARTMENT: Must have minimum three windshield bars in front of
driver. Aluminum high back seat only and must be bolted in next to left side frame rail and ahead of rear tires. Bottom of seat can be no lower than bottom of frame rail. Driver must be sealed off from track, driveline, engine, fuel cell, canisters and pumps. Oil coolers must not protrude above interior. Accumulators cannot be mounted between driver and left side door bars. No driver adjustable devices while car is in competition except brake adjuster. No mirrors or reflective sun visors.


6. FRONT SUSPENSION: All components must be steel, unaltered OEM, in OEM location, and replaceable by OEM parts, except tube-type upper A-frames with aluminum/steel cross shaft, and mounts can be moved. OEM replacement tubular control arms OK. Lower A-frames must be right and left and of same design: rubber, nylon or steel lower A-frame bushings, no offset or bearing type, welded or bolted shock mount on lower A-frame. Lower A-frame mounts and bolt holes on frame must be in OEM location.

7. STEERING: All components must be steel, unaltered OEM, in OEM location, except outer tie rod end and adjustment sleeve may be replaced by a minimum .625 inch steel rod end and steel tube; spindles can be ground for brake caliper clearance only. Unaltered OEM replacement Pinto spindles, raised cast, spindles must be right and left and of same design. Bolt on spindle savers allowed. Steel steering shafts and knuckles only. Steering quickener, steering wheel and quick release may be aluminum. driver department steering may be modified, must be kept on left side. No
rack and pinion.

8. SHOCKS: One steel, non-adjustable, unaltered shock per wheel. One additional shock allowed on rear suspension. No threaded body, front coil-over, air, or remote reservoir shocks. One or all shocks may be claimed per event for $50 each.

9.SPRINGS: Steel or composite leaf spring allowed. One coil and/or leaf spring per wheel only. One additional spring allowed on pull bar or lift bar, may be progressive. Any coil spring min.4.5 inches O.D.. No torsion bars or air bags.

10. REAR SUSPENSION: All components must be steel. No car covers allowed. All trailing arms/link bars must be solid tubing or stock. Rear of frame may be altered to accept leaf or coil springs. Must conform to shock and spring rules. One mechanical traction bar (pull or lift, not both). All suspension parts must be visible on both ends. Springs must be on top of rearend housing.

11. REAR END:Any steel approved rear end allowed. Safety hubs (floater) allowed. All components must be steel except lowering blocks, cap and drive flange. Full steel spool, steel mini spool or welded rear ends only. Steel axles only. One piece drive flange only. No torque dividing differentials. No scalloped ring gears. No quick change.

12. BUMPERS/RUB RAILS: Steel only. Bumpers must be used both front and rear at all times and welded, or mounted with bolts. Must be minimum 1.25 inch O.D. tubing. .065 wall thickness on front. .095 wall thickness on rear. Two-bar front bumpers must be mounted frame-end to frame-end no wider than width of material outside frame horns and with bottom loop parallel to ground. Top bar must be directly above bottom bar, minimum 6.5 inches apart, measured center to center. Rear
bumper and nerf bars can be no wider than tires with no sharp edges on either end.

13.TIRES AND WHEELS: Must run Approved Hoosier asphalt pull-offs only, Hoosier 2045, F53, F75 and EC 21 OR 31. Any 8” or 10 ” steel wheel. No grooving or siping allowed.

14. BRAKES: Must be steel approved OEM, operative four wheel, drum or disc. Must maintain minimum OEM dimensions for hubs/rotors and calipers, cannot be lightened. Bolt pattern maybe changed. Larger studs allowed. Rear rotors may be aftermarket, minimum 0.810 inch thickness. Vented rotors only. No scalloped rotors. No brake shut-off or pressure sensitive devices. One proportioning device allowed, front to rear only. Brake lines must be visible.

15. EXHAUST: Round tube headers only. All primary header tubes must enter directly into one collector at same point at end of header and point rearward.

16. CARBURETOR & FUEL PUMP: Single two barrels or 4 barrels only. Carb spacer and adapter ok, maximum 11/4 " height. Aftermarket air filters ok. Aftermarket fuel pumps ok. All pumps must mount in stock location. Cross member may be notched for fuel pump clearance only.

17. FUEL: Gasoline or alcohol. No performance enhancing additives. Upper cylinder lube allowed. Fuel sample may be taken from any car at any time.

18. BATTERY/STARTER: One battery only. Must be shielded and securely mounted between frame rails. Must have capability of starting without being pushed or pulled. Must leave initial staging area on demand, unaided or go to rear of that race.


19. GAUGES/ELECTRONICS: No transmitting or listening devices, timing retard controls, or digital gauges (including tach). No electronic monitoring computer devices capable of storing or transmitting information except analog tach. No adjustable ignition control boxes. Only one 12 volt ignition box allowed, must be out of driver’s reach. No additional ignition accessories allowed. Only change allowed
to ignition box is one high-end rev-limiter setting. This setting can be changed through one chip only, or an internal setting inside box. No electronic traction control devices.

20. TRANSMISSION/DRIVE SHAFT: Must have at least one gear forward and one reverse, plus a neutral position. With motor running and car in a still position, driver must be able to engage car in gear and move forward, then backward. Must have an approved scatter shield or blanket. Scattershield may be constructed of 25-inch by three-inch steel, 270 degrees around flexplate or flywheel.

21. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Rear of engine (bellhousing flange) must be mounted at least 70 inches forward from centerline of rear axle. Engine offset must be kept within 2 inches of centerline of front crossmember with engine level. Minimum 11 inch engine height from ground to center of crankshaft. Radiator must be mounted in front of engine. Cooling system may be modified.

22. ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS: Any American make engine allowed. Steel heads and block only. All engines must be able to be used in conventional passenger car without alteration. Engine mounts cannot be removed or altered. Castings and fittings must not be changed. No machine work on outside of engine. “Wet” oiling system only. Must be willing to sell for $325.00.


23. WEIGHT: Minimum weight limit of 2,400 lbs, no tolerance, after race with driver.
Weights must not be used in driver’s compartment or outside of the body or hood area. Any weights added to other areas of vehicles must be securely mounted and must be painted white and have the car number on it, and attached with at least two .5 inch bolts. No titanium, magnesium or carbon fiber products. No gun-drilled, tubular, hollow bolts or studs. Steel fasteners only.

24. ENGINE CLAIMING RULES: Claim only including fly wheel and balancing plate. Claim does not include; 1. clutch 2. pressure plate 3. bellhousing 4. headers 5. carburetor 6. starter 7. motor mounts 8. sending units and switches for oil pressure and water temperature 9. carburetor adaptor 10. fan and pulleys 11. clutch ball 13. throw out bearing 14. dip stick 15. water pump 16. fuel pump 17. distributor 18. plus wires 19. external oil restrictors (must furnish plugs) 20. water outlet and restrictor. First four position finishers must report directly to claim area and are subject to engine claim by any other driver finishing fifth on back in feature that has not been lapped by the fourth place driver.
Failure to report directly to claim area will result in disqualification and loss of money and points for first infraction (engine is still claimable); will be treated as engine claim refusal for second infraction. Driver allowed one ONLY per event, regardless of outcome of that claim. In case of multiple claim on same engine, a drawing will be held to determine which driver gets the engine. Driver making claim must drive his race car immediately after finish of feature, under its own power, directly to claiming area. Claims must be made to official immediately after end of feature race, and claimed engine must be completely removed within one hour from the time claim is made and driver agrees to swap claimed engine. No one driver may claim any other one driver more than once during current calendar year. Refusal to swap forfeits all cash and contingency winnings for feature, and trophies earned in feature, plus any points earned in feature for that event. Any driver refusing to sell an engine, when claimed with rules, regardless of his reinstatement with TX Dirt, loses his right to
claim any driver’s engine for 12 calendar months from date of refusal to sell. Claim is
not charged to claiming driver in case of a refusal. First offense is $500.00, Second offense is $1000.00 & one month suspension, and Third offense $2000.00. Once an engine claim has been made and accepted, the engine is not to be started under any circumstances. The car is to be pushed to the area where removal will take place. Any driver starting a claimed engine will be immediately disqualified from the event. All claimed engines must be removed from car at the track; buyer must examine engine before removal-once removal is started, sale is final.
No driver may claim more than two engines during current calendar year.
Any first time participant may not claim until second sanctioned event.

Crusier Class

Never have race before or are over 60 year old. This will be a trophy class only. Same rules as the factory stock rules. This where 2 people can drive 1 car in difference class help save money. Now if you need to get some laps under your belt before moving up, this is a class for you.
